About us

Benevolence NZ is a Wellington based organisation based on the principles and philosophy of Benevolence Australia, an organisation established 10 years ago in Melbourne, Australia. At Benevolence, we are passionate about creating an environment where Muslim are able to thrive within New Zealand and practice Islam in a way that is relevant to the culture here in Aotearoa. We are also committed to providing opportunities for people of other faith backgrounds to learn about Islam and Muslims in an open, friendly environment.

Philosophy

Our philosophy is set in the Islamic tradition, where the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are exemplified, and where spiritual growth is at the bedrock of all that we do.

Vision

Benevolence’s vision of “Seeking The Creator Through Conscious Living” extends to every initiative and project on which we embark. This translates itself into a clear focus on wholesome living, ethical choices and respect to all that surrounds us: principles which are based on the guidance and character of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

How you can get involved

Community organisations are only successful when everyone works together to achieve a common goal. We would love to hear from anyone who is interested in joining our group of volunteers, attending our events or collaborating on projects with a shared vision.
